Beaumont History
The story of Beaumont Village Market began back in 1935, when architect Charles Ertz submitted a plan to add on to the original Beaumont Building, seven years after the original construction. Ertz had to demonstrate how his new adjacent market building would meet a contingency in zoning requirements at the intersection and be “in harmony” with the older buildings. A short year after he submitted all the paperwork, the current building that resides there today was constructed.
After numerous name changes, “Beaumont Village Market” was officially established in 1984 and the block was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1992. The store is representation of the rich history that is a part of the Beaumont neighborhood and it is alive and well today, with the goal of providing the area’s residents with the best retail experience.
